Abit about me!
My name is Diane and I have been a crafter/ maker for as long as I can remember, from turning empty boxes into imaginary castles to making and selling my homemade crafts at St George’s Market for a time. As I go through life, I keep coming back to the realisation that crafting and making really is my ‘happy place’. I am a massive believer in the process rather than the finished product and will give any craft a go! My aspiration for the new studio is that it will become other people’s ‘happy place’, be that a place to make and to try things but also a space for peace of mind.

Diane Weir - Owner
My professional experience has been in Community, Education and Childcare. I have been looking after children in one capacity or another for over 20 years.
I also own Holywood Play Company, an Afterschool and Holiday Childcare facility, based at the top of the garden at the studio. Play Co has been such an amazing fulfilling experience and I feel we are privileged to spend time in young people’s lives. I have also been lucky enough to have worked as a Community Development worker, with a BA Hons in Community Education.
I have a passion for children as the basis of our continuing community spirit and I am enthusiastic to promote my community ethos into growing the success of Hope Studios.
I realise as I go through life how important it is for me to go my ‘crafting mind zone’ and take time out from the everyday rush. I hope I can encourage others to use this resource to bring themselves Happiness and Hope.
We have the space for you and your creative classes to enjoy time and relaxing making all the difference.
